McNair Software About McNair SoftwareLocation: Freeport, Western Pennsylvania
History: Built on embedded motion controlDoug McNair founded McNair Software as a C-corporation in PA in 1992. Since 1974, Doug has been involved in the design and implementation of microprocessor systems. At such places as Contraves (now L-3 Communications Brashear), International Cybernetics, and Modicon, Inc., Doug solved motion control problems using the emerging technologies of Intel, Motorola and Hitachi and the various languages of the blossoming software development field in the many real-time operating systems, including Intel's RMX, proprietary OSs and the expanding Windows platform. After his tenure as Software Manager at Modicon, Inc. at their Pittsburgh motion control division, Doug founded McNair Software on the fundamentals of advanced motion control, employing software servos and hardware designs to resolve complicated and sophisticated problems or calculations for the factory automation and robotics arenas. Since 1992, we've expanded our reach to work with medical equipment and scientific instrumentation firms requiring precise motion control, data acquisition and analysis. While MSI started as a software development firm, we expanded our offerings to include embedded circuit board development to give our clients a comprehensive solution.
