PCB Prototyping

Key Benefits

Quickly prove circuit designs

Small quantities at affordable costs

Control over manufacture

Capabilities

With all the new component and processing technology, it's very difficult to produce a representative wire-wrapped prototype board for proving out electronic circuitry. We've invested in a new era circuit board plotter and peripheral equipment to produce PCBs up to 9 in x 12 in single-sided or double-sided mixed signal, up to 8 layers, with through-hole support. In conjunction with a hot air solder unit, we're able to build PCBs with surface-mounted technology in-house and drastically reduce the time to prove new designs.

PCB Fabrication

The LPKF ProtoMat® S62 PCB plotter allows for system resolution as fine as 0.25 µm (0.01 mils) and a board size as large as 9 in x 12 in. A peripheral press allows us to build up to 8 layers with through hole support.

Hot Air solder unit

Gradually warming the board and component to the temperature just before solder melts reduces thermal shock to the delicate electronic component when solder is applied.

Other milling applications

Our tools also have the ability to mill plastic housings and front panels to provide prototype fixtures and interfaces.
